In order to support international exchange and mobility of workers certain targeted activities need to be undertaken and specialized tools are required to ease their transition from one country to the other. To this end the project will implement different activities and produce several tools to support mobility.

Activity 1: Networking

  • February 2007, Bratislava

  • June 18-19, 2007, Brussels

  • November 06-08, 2007, Vilnius (in connection with the final conference of the Baltic Sea Region Interreg III B project "Business Support Measures for Enterprise")

Activity 2: Exchange of information and of the demand for skilled workers in EU

In order to help enterprises to find just the right kind of skilled workers it is necessary to establish and publish the needs for qualified workers in the partners' region. In cooperation with local labour market agencies and other partners the project partners will draw up a needs profile for skilled workers in their region. The needs analysis will also take into consideration the age profile of the region in order to forecast the future need for skilled workers due to demographic change.

Activity 3: Assessment of competences

The project target groups are adults with work experience and vocational training and experienced adults with little or no formal vocational training. It is important to look at both groups in order to meet the requirements of the total potentially mobile workforce. The project will undertake to develop a model for assessing and approving their competence based skills gained in (non)formal training.
